Blue & Gold Macaws are without a doubt one of the most visually appealling birds in the world. The rich golden yellow
on their chest and blue feahters on their wings, heads & tails really is one of the first things that command your
attention when looking at one of these amazing birds. One of the larger Macaws, Blue & Golds reach a length of about
32 - 34 inches from head to tail. Of the larger Macaws Blue & Golds tend to make better pets. They're an easy going
bird and of the large Macaws one that we would readily recommend as a family companion. As with all species that we
raise we do recommend that people thoroughly research the species of bird that they are interested in. Parrots in
general are not the easiest birds to keep as companions however with a lot of research and education many people do
keep their parrots successfully for many many many years. Here at Bird Heaven Aviaries, we're always available
either by phone or email to answer any questions you might have about that special companion you've bought from us.
Macaws need a lot of time of out of their cages, keeping them occupied can be quite the challenge at times.

Of the large Macaws, blue & golds do appear to be more even tempered and much more forgiving than other Macaws. One thing we love
about the Blue & Golds here at Bird Heaven Aviaries is the fact that they're rather social birds who truly do love being made to feel like one of
the family. They do well in a family setting if well socialized and often love to interact with different famiily members. Blue & Golds will also
have their favorite visitors as well.

Blue & Gold Macaws
Macaws are big birds, and big birds come with big voices.
Macaws have a very loud screech which can be from quite
some distance away, We have 5 pairs of Blue and Golds here
at Bird Heaven Aviaries and trust me, when they all sound off
it can be deafening. With that being said though, Macaws are
not like Cockatoo's will screech incessantly. It's true that
some Macaws will scream a lot but it's a rare occurence, it is
rare that a Companion Macaw will squawk constantly though.
Many different things can set off a bird screaming, that can
include the noise and energy level of the household, their
favorite person leaving the room or even a shadow on the wall
has been known to spook "Rico", my pet macaw.
