| Located in the "Raisin Capital" of the world, Selma, California. Bird Heaven Aviaries got its start back in early 2000. Michael had been raising various small birds such as Lovebirds, Cockatiels & Finches for many years & one day during the summer of 2000, asked Justin if he would be interested in handraising some Cockatiel babies. Fast foward 10 years to 2010 & the flock is thriving here. We now raise everything from Mutation Pacific Parrotlets to Large Macaws to rare species such as the Beautiful Festive Bodini Amazon, Illiger & Noble Macaws. One of our favorite birds to work with here are Hahns Macaws. We house several producing pairs of this sassy little powerhouse. Even though I'm only 34 years old, raising birds is something I love doing. It really is a labour of love & it's something I still hope to be doing 30 years from now. Most of our birds here are seasonal breeders preferring to breed in late winter & early spring, our Hahns Macaws are the only exception, for some reason they seem to enjoy the summer heat here in the San Joaquin Valley & usually start laying around the middle of June. I don't mind though, just means the second half of the year I get to have as many 12 Hahns Macaw babies hanging around. When the birds aren't breeding and I have spare time on my hands I also make a variety of bird toys from Conure size up the large Macaws. Most of the toys are tested on the babies & our pet birds here. If they meet their approval then I keep making that particular model. Check out the toy page for some of the toys I make. Having a parrot as a companion is a truly challenging thing but ultimately, it's incredibly rewarding. I do my absolute best to ensure that the baby is well socialized with men, women and children. I get so much enjoyment from my own pets and If I'm able to pass on that passion & enjoyment to my customers then I'm happy. When I hear from people who purchased birds from me 6 years ago & they tell me how much they're enjoying their birds, It really makes feel like I've accomplished something. Justin & Michael are dedicate to providing not just their babies but their breeder birds as well with the excpetional care that parrots truly deserve. |
